260 California Street, San Francisco

The outgoing chief minister of Sarawak, Taib Mahmud, and his family have sold off property in San Francisco for 55.9 million ringgit ($16.94 million), non-government organisation Bruno Manser Fund alleged in a release on February 11, citing its own research on the issue.

The historical 11-storey building at 260 California Street in San Francisco's financial district was sold by US company Sakti in mid-2012. Sakti is allegedly controlled by Taib via his closest family members.

Documents released by the late whistleblower Ross Boyert back in 2010 showed that 50 per cent of Sakti's shares were held "in trust" for Taib by his two brothers, Onn and Arip, and his three children. Sakti, through other firms, is also allegedly owner of other property in the US, namely in Seattle, as well as Canada.

The NGO said that Taib's majority control of Sakti was kept a secret because the Sarawak constitution prohibits the chief minister from actively running commercial interests. The constitution states that the head of government and the governor "shall not hold any office of profit and shall not actively engage in commercial enterprise."

Switzerland-based Bruno Manser Fund is a heavy critic of Taib Mahmud and committed to protect the threatened tropical rainforests and the rights of the indigenous forest peoples in Sarawak. The fund was founded by Swiss rainforest advocate Bruno Manser, who has been missing since his last trip to Sarawak in May 2000.

Taib MahmudThe chief minister of Malaysia's largest state of Sarawak, Taib Mahmud, 77, is expected to step down this weekend after 33 years in charge of the resource-rich state that have been key to keeping the national coalition in power but marred by corruption allegations and deforestation.

He said he will inform Sarawak's governor on February 15 of his plans to retire, Bernama state news agency reported. His announcement was followed by a series of meetings with his political allies.

"There is no hurry. I look forward to doing something useful for the country at a leisurely pace," Bernama quoted Taib as saying of his retirement.

But Taib's influence over the Borneo island state is likely to remain strong as he is expected to take on the job of state governor, a more ceremonial role than his current post. And his departure will raise doubts over whether a successor will be able to maintain Taib's political balance between defending the interests of native Sarawak residents, and supporting the national Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition. The state is majority Christian in Muslim-majority Malaysia.

Sarawak has been increasingly crucial to the long-ruling BN coalition as its support wanes in peninsula Malaysia. Without the 25 seats that Taib's party and his allies won in last May's election, the national coalition would have lost its majority in the 222-seat parliament, likely ending its 57-year rule.

Taib's party emerged from the election as the coalition's second-largest party after the ruling United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), boosting his sway over national politics.

Taib has short-listed three possible successors, including his housing minister who is seen as having close ties with the federal government and Prime Minister Najib Razak.

Taib, who travels by Rolls Royce and private jet, has been under pressure to step down amid a growing focus on alleged timber corruption in the state. Environmental groups say that under his rule, Sarawak – which accounts for a quarter of the world's tropical log exports – has lost 95 per cent of its virgin forest. Sarawak officials say 84 per cent of the state is forested although this includes massive oil palm estates planted in place of forests.

Taib is presiding over a $100 billion plan to harness the state's rivers into 12 dams by 2020 and transform it into an energy hub that can power smelters built by Japanese and Australian firms and also light up the rest of Borneo island.

SIBU: The riddle of a bumper worth RM4,000 stolen from a four-wheel-drive vehicle parked at the first floor car park of a hotel here could well be solved in a 'tale of the tape'.

The car park at the hotel is said to have been installed with Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV).

The owner had driven his 4WD from Kapit for checking on Friday morning.

After the car was fixed in the afternoon, he parked his vehicle at a car park on the first floor of a hotel where he stayed overnight.

When he was about to head for Miri at 8.30am the next day, he found the rear bumper of his car missing.

The owner then sought help from the hotel's management to inform it of the incident.

The car owner and two hotel officials subsequently lodged a police report. It was not known if the hotel's CCTV caught footage of the crime.

Acrobatic lion dance &#39;bless&#39; <b>hotel</b> with good fortune – BorneoPost <b>...</b>

MIRI: All eyes at Imperial Hotel were drawn to the heart-thumping and acrobatic lions that pranced to the sound of cymbals and reverberating drums yesterday.

The event, which started at 10am sharp, and the stunts performed by three lions held the huge crowd of shoppers and hotel guests, especially children, agog.

The lions later went up to the fifth floor to perform a blessing routine. This was followed by a 10-minute 24-drum performance and breath-taking dance routine on stilts.

The display ended with the lions rearranging mandarin oranges to create an image of a horse and 'Da Ji' (which means 'Good Fortune' in Chinese).

"The lion dance is our annual tradition to bless our business.

"We also hope that the Year of the Horse would bring good fortune and health to our hotel guests," said Nicholas Jong, advertising and promotion executive of Imperial Palace Hotel.

Jong added that a similar lion dance was held at Imperial Palace Hotel on Saturday, and the one-hour display attracted a huge crowd too.

SOS call to <b>hotel</b> saves tourist while jungle trekking at Lambir Hills <b>...</b>

Posted: 09 Feb 2014 02:34 PM PST

MIRI: A Dutch tourist sustained crippling pain in his leg while jungle trekking at Lambir Hills National Park on Sunday morning, at about 30km from here.

Gokarna Loikar, 50, and his Singaporean mate Sunil, 60, had went on the jungle trek around 9am without, regrettably, any accompanying park attendants.

After trekking for about 4.25 kms in the area, Gokarna ended up tripping with his leg getting immobilised.

A team of firemen from Lopeng fire station and two personnel from Miri Civil Department (JPAM) dashed to the scene upon receiving a distress called on the victim's condition.

The call was made by a hotel manager where one of the tourists was staying in Miri.

According to the hotel manager, one of the victims fortunately could make a call to him asking for help.

The rescue team arrived at the park around 12.30pm and combed the area to find the tourists around 1pm.

Investvine » Openg to replace outgoing <b>Sarawak</b> chief minister?

Johari-Tun-Abang-Haji-OpengSince Malaysia's longest serving chief minister, Sarawak's Taib Mahmud, has announced his retirement by this month, speculations are rife who will replace him as the leader of the resource-rich state, Malaysia's largest.

Many observers are expecting deputy president Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg (64), a Malay, who is also state housing and tourism minister, to take over. An engineer by profession, he is the son of Sarawak's first governor, Tun Abang Haji Openg. Based on seniority in the party, he is seen as the most qualified person to lead the state.

However, Taib Mahmud reportedly has dropped three names behind closed doors as suitable candidates for his succession. Besides Openg, these are second resource planning and environment minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan and minister in chief minister's office and minister of special functions Tan Sri Adenan Satem.

Openg enjoys the support of a solid grassroots base and many Malays and non-Malays alike see him as a truly amicable and competent leader. Rumours say that we is also the preferred choice of the government in Putrajaya. Satem, on the other hand, would also be highly qualified but suffers from poor health and reportedly has a pacemaker. Tengah Ali Hasan could be presented as second in the state in case Openg is chosen as chief minister.

SCB caps off 2013 with a record 57 convention bid wins, representing 21,277 delegates and 71,798 delegate days; which will contribute an estimated direct delegate expenditure of RM 41.6 million to the state of Sarawak.Recording an 85% bid success rate, Sarawak Convention Bureau (SCB) has surpassed its targeted bid wins with a record 57 convention bids that is estimated to contribute an estimated direct delegate expenditure of RM 41.6 million to the state of Sarawak; an increase of 26.7% from 2012.

SCB at the ASEAN Tourism Forum 2014

Since its inception in 2006, SCB has grown leaps and bounds to secure a total of 277 bids contributing an estimated RM 270 million of direct delegate expenditure to Sarawak. The value of these wins and business goes way beyond economics for Sarawak, for example education, research, export trade, foreign exchange and CSR opportunities as key outcomes.

YB Dato Sri Dr Muhd. Leo Michael Toyad Abdullah, Chairman of SCB commented, "The Bureau's success would not have been possible without the continuous support from our clients, industry partners plus Federal and State Governments who have worked together to raise Sarawak's profile as a business events destination."

"Moreover, Sarawak has enjoyed the benefits of infrastructure development and upgrade, global knowledge exchange and increased job opportunities for the local communities," he added.

Among the major conventions secured in 2013 include the International Energy Week (2014), International Conference of the International Vocational Education and Training Association (2015), 55th ICCA Annual General Assembly (2016), 13th Asia Pacific Orchid Conference and Show (2019), and Asian Confederation for Physiotherapy (2016), to name a few.

Recently, Kuching was host to the 33rd ASEAN Tourism Forum that began on the 16th January 2014. Attracting over 1,600 delegates, including 879 sellers from ASEAN countries, and 462 international buyers to Sarawak, ATF has allowed the state to showcase its best tourism products and business events facilities. Organised by the Ministry of Tourism and Culture, Malaysia in collaboration with the State Government of Sarawak and ASEAN Tourism Association (ASEANTA), the ATF 2014 is the first main business event of more than 20 such activities planned for Sarawak; not to mention more than 200 activities planned for 'Visit Malaysia Year 2014', where 28 million arrivals and RM 76 billion in tourism income are expected.

SCB participated in the ATF by organising a Sarawak-styled Hospitality Suite to attract potential buyers during the event. Showcasing a different theme for each day, 3 in total, the decorations were sponsored by Emil's Garden, Events Horizon and Wicked Events; all local Sarawak Event Management Companies. The themes were: Kenyalang Rainforest Magic (Day 1), Meowing in the Cat City (Day 2) and Borneo Adventure (Day 3). These themes can be used for themed gala dinners or unique incentive activities to give your business event that Sarawakian spunk!

The ATF 2014 also saw the presentation of the ASEAN Green Hotel Award that recognised 86 hotels in the region for their efforts towards environmental conservation and sustainable tourism.

Mike Cannon, Managing Director of SCB commented, "We're glad to see eight hotels from Malaysia receiving the Green Hotel Award; two of which are in Sarawak – Riverside Majestic Hotel and Miri Marriott Resort and Spa. These hotels have adhered to green and sustainable practices in support of responsible tourism – a much added-value feature for delegates to Sarawak."

The year 2014 will see a number of new or recently established business event facilities in Sarawak, namely:

Borneo Samariang Resort City
A new development, Borneo Samariang Resort City is slated to be a satellite township located to the north of Kuching. It is a 500 acres development plan to be developed over a ten year period as an integrated resort city with world class theme park attractions, resort accommodation and dedicated M.I.C.E Center.

KTS Garden, Kuching
KTS Garden houses a main hall and a Chinese/ Cantonese style cuisine restaurant that accommodates up to 60 tables and 20 tables respectively. The function hall was specially designed to cater for large events or conferences.

Imperial Hotel Kuching
The latest addition to the many hotels in Kuching, the Imperial Hotel Kuching will have 325 rooms, and a main ballroom able to accommodate 1500 pax (banquet) and 9 meeting rooms that will be able to accommodate 40-60 pax (banquet). Expected completion: March 2014

KUCHING: Riverside Majestic Hotel Kuching and Miri Marriott Resort & Spa were among the 10 hotels in Malaysia that received the Asean Green Hotel Award (AGHA) 2014 during the award night on Jan 19 at Pullman Hotel, Kuching.

These two hotels in Sarawak received the auspicious awards together with other hotels from Malaysia which include The Shangri-La's Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa (Penang), Shangri-La's Tanjung Aru Resort & Spa (Sabah), Shangri-La's Rasa Ria Resort (Sabah), The Shangri-La Hotel Kuala Lumpur, Mandarin Oriental Hotel (Kuala Lumpur), The Andaman Langkawi (Kedah), Nexus Resort Karambunai (Sabah), and Renaissance Kuala Lumpur.

Minister of Tourism and Culture Malaysia, Datuk Seri Nazri Abdul Aziz said, "The primary objective of this award is to provide the well-deserved recognition to hotels that go beyond conventional practices and embark on green and environmental friendly measures in support of responsible tourism."

Miri Mariott Resort & Spa

Miri Mariott Resort & Spa

Nazri added that there was an increasing demand by tourists for hotels which adopt green practices.

Recognising this global trend, Asean developed the Asean Green Hotel Standard. This standard establishes a professional green hotel operation comprising an environmental plan, green products, human resource and environment management – all of which enable all involved to reap benefits from a collective approach to operational professionalism.

This bi-annual award is presented to hotels which adhere to green and sustainable practices, are environmentally friendly, and adapt energy conservation measures based on the criteria and requirements enshrined in the Asean Green Hotel Standard.

The AGHA was first started in 2008 with Thailand as the host country. This year 86 hotels across the Asean member states were awarded the AGHA for being environmentally-friendly and adopting energy conservation measures while being respectful of sustainable consumption of resources.

This Asean Green Hotel programme is also seen as an integral initiative to support the current work of ASEAN to develop the ASEAN Ecotourism Strategic Plan which promotes tourism and green practice in the tourism industry.

The ceremony is also held as to recognise the mutual benefits and opportunities derived through networking, collaboration and working in partnership within the Asean member states, the private sector and NGOs.

Studies have shown that this increase fetches a premium in their hotel rates. Beyond this, the green hotel management practices will, in the long run, also reduce the cost of operations and enhance revenue.

KUCHING: Riverside Majestic Hotel Kuching and Miri Marriot Resort and Spa were among the 86 hotels across the Asean region to receive the prestigious Asean Green Hotel Award 2014 yesterday.

The bi-annual award ceremony which is held in conjunction with the Asean Tourism Forum (ATF) 2014 held at Pullman Hotel also saw another eight hotels from Malaysia receiving the recognition.

"This award is presented to hotels which adhere to green and sustainable practices, are environmentally friendly and adopt energy conservation measures based on the criteria and requirements in the Asean Green Hotel Standard," said Tourism and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Nazri Abdul Aziz.

He also said the primary objective of the award is to provide the well-deserved recognition to hotels that go beyond conventional practices and embark on green and environment friendly measures in support of responsible tourism.

The award presentation which started in Thailand in 2008 was also held in Brunei Darussalam in 2010, followed by Indonesia in 2012.

According to Nazri, there is an increasing demand by tourists for hotels which adopt green practices as proven by studies which showed that demand is higher than the supply of green hotels.

"Hence, these green hotels fetch a premium in their hotel rates as well as reduce the cost of operations and enhance revenue in the long run," he added.

Recognising this global trend, Asean has decided to develop the Asean Green Hotel Standards which comprises an environmental plan, green products, human resource and environment management.

He also said that the move can also be seen as an integral initiative to support the current work of Asean to develop the Asean Ecotourism Strategic Plan which promotes responsible tourism and green practices in the tourism industry.

The award was given to ten hotels from Malaysia, Myanmar (10), the Philippines (5), Singapore (10), Thailand (10), Vietnam (10), Laos (10), Cambodia (10), Indonesia (10) and Brunei Darussalam (1).

Each of the awards was presented by the respective country's own minister of tourism in a ceremony witnessed by more than 250 attendees.

Also present during the ceremony were Tourism Minister Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg and Sarawak Tourism Board CEO Datuk Rashid Khan.

ATF is the largest ASEAN based trade show for tourism development, every year it is hosted by one country of ASEAN. This year was Malaysia in Kuching Sarawak.
The Lombok Hotel Association decided that for the purpose of tourism growth and development in NTB, Lombok had to be visible in the tourism professional circle and took a double booth at ATF 2014 for the promotion of Lombok where 8 hotel managers presented our great island..
The 28 hotels members of the association were presented to various buyers and media from around the world, but foremost the destination was presented to make sure Lombok become a name on everybody's lips when talking about Indonesia as a tourism destination
Last year in October the LHA supported by BPPD and PHRI, took a booth at ITB Asia, the largest B2B exhibition in the region, but unfortunately, the other two most important shows in the region could not be supported, and LHA finance itself for ATF2014 and next month for the Perth Travel Expo.
The ministry was very pleased to see for the third time in 6 month the Lombok Hotel Association taking initiative to do what matters for the growth of tourism in NTB.
Our only hope is that NTB BPPD will take on the responsibility to do professional shows with the right industry for the right market in order to ensure proper tourism growth in the region.
February some of Lombok hotels will join the Ministry of Tourism in Singapore for NATAS, the largest consumer show for holiday in Singapore, but before that LHA will be in Perth for the Perth Travel Expo to promote our great Island.

Accor to triple stable of <b>hotels</b> by 2015 - The Borneo Post Online

Posted: 20 Jan 2014 10:02 AM PST

by Jonathan Wong, jonathanwong@theborneopost.com. Posted on January 21, 2014, Tuesday

KUCHING: Accor has announced plans to expand its hotel network in Malaysia with an additional 15 properties comprising 2,600 rooms throughout the country over the next two years.

This will amount to tripling its current stable of hotels to 20 hotels across all segments.

Gerard Guillouet, senior vice president for Accor Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore has highlighted the move as strategic and said, "Accor sees Malaysia as one of the top tourism destinations in Southeast Asia. The country is full of potential and has plenty of room for Accor to grow.

"We are focusing our energy to aggressively develop more hotels in the country across all market segments and with strong support from our hotel owners, tourism authorities as well as local communities, we are excited about the future prospects for our hotels in Malaysia."

The move was also opportune for the company as it was "just in time for Visit Malaysia Year 2014" and Guillouet further elaborated that, "We expect to open at least four hotels in both peninsular and East Malaysia this year including Novotel Melaka, Mercure Kota Kinabalu Eton, Ibis Styles Ipoh and Ibis Styles Sandakan Waterfront."

The momentum of new hotel openings would lead the group to achieve its target of 20 hotels by 2015, boosting job opportunities and economic benefits for the communities surrounding the hotel.

"It will allow us to become one of the leaders transforming the country's hospitality industry into the future," he added.

Accor, which owns and operates Pullman hotels, continues to open hotels across the spectrum to meet the needs of the different market segments visiting Malaysia with the mix of hotel segments in upscale (15 per cent), midscale (40 per cent) and economy (45 per cent).

"The network will also be geographically balanced with hotels in strategic business and leisure destinations throughout the country.

"Our long term strategy has been to emphasise development in central Malaysia first eventually expanding into other regions including Penang, Perak, Selangor, Melaka, Johor, Sabah, and Sarawak," Guillouet enthused.

"Apart from promoting our own hotels, we will also promote the site where our hotels are at. We are promoting the different destinations in Malaysia inclusive of Sarawak (Kuching), Sabah (Kota Kinabalu) as well as Kuala Lumpur (Putrajaya) and we are also linked to the Tourism Malaysia website."

<b>Hotel in Sarawak</b> Blog: Police launch bicycle crime prevention unit <b>...</b>

Posted: 17 Jan 2014 11:24 AM PST

by Anasathia Jenis, reporters@theborneopost.com. Posted on January 14, 2014, Tuesday

KUCHING: Kuching district police yesterday launched a pilot bicycle crime prevention unit with the concept of patrolling from hotel to hotel in the city to ensure safety for tourists.

Launching the unit at the Merdeka Palace Hotel, its chief ASP Roslan Bek Ahmad said it would consist of some 24 police officers.

"At the same time, they will also cover other areas along their journey, including the road sides, markets, shop houses and places of attraction.

"They will also have a meet-and-greet session with tourists staying at the hotels as well as hotel staff to see if there is anything they can do to help regarding their safety."

Pointing out that the cycling unit is a new and friendly way to engage with the public, Roslan is optimistic that it will be more effective in crime prevention.

"Our Kuching City is a safe city. But with the setting up of the team, it will send a warning to the potential offender.

"We want to make sure the city is a safe place for tourists as we don't want to give a bad image to the city particularly and our country at large," Roslan said, adding that the concept was welcomed by most hotels in the city.

To hotels that did not understand the concept, he said they would approach them to give explanation.

"We do not have the intention to cast fear on the public with the presence of the police at the premises, but it is only to ensure the safety of the people. Early crime prevention is better," he reiterated.

He also said the unit would be an addition to the bicycle patrolling unit launched previously.

Roslan also said that there would be a weekly post-mortem on the pilot project to get feedback from the hotels on its effectiveness.

Also present were Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) member Datuk Wee Hong Seng and Merdeka Palace Hotel resident manager Andrew Peter Law.

KUCHING: Hotel Grand Continental kicked off their Chinese New Year (CNY) celebration in grand style by creating an 18-foot long dragon Yee Sang.

The delicious dragon was put together in the hotel lobby on Tuesday by the culinary team led by executive chef Idris Benjamin.

Both hotel staff and guests then tossed the yee sang for prosperity.

According to general manager Gerard Sta Maria, Hotel Grand Continental is also celebrating their 18th anniversary this year.

"We have so many good years to come," he told reporters and guests.

The hotel also previewed their Chinese New Year menus, aptly named 'Grand Prosperity', 'Golden Horse' and 'Imperial Fortune'.

They combine fresh, quality ingredients with great taste and flavour, resulting in harmony on a plate.

The 'Grand Prosperity' set is RM588+ per table (10 pax). The menu includes Rainbow Yee Sang, Sea Cucumber with Crabmeat Soup, Crispy Roasted Chicken, Deep Fried Seabass with Nyonya Sauce, Asparagus with Pacific Clams, Buttered Prawns with Nestum, Mixed Mushroom Fried Rice and Chilled Four Treasure Longan Dessert.

'Golden Horse' is RM 688+ per table and features Rainbow Yee Sang, Shark's Fin with Crabmeat Soup, Pa'Lo Duck, Steamed White Pomfret with Supreme Sauce, Salted Prawns, Braised Imperial Lamb with Steamed Bun, Golden Mushroom Fried Rice and Chilled Four Treasure Longan Dessert.

Meanwhile, 'Imperial Fortune' is geared towards those with discerning taste. Priced at RM888+ per table, the menu has Rainbow Yee Sang, Prosperity Cold Dish Combination, Eight Kingdom Shark's Fin Soup, 'Grand Horse' combination of chicken and duck, Steamed White Pomfret with Supreme Sauce, Sarawak Black Pepper Prawns, Asparagus with Pacific Clams and Chilled Four Treasure Longan Dessert.

All menus come with free flow of Chinese tea and soft drinks.

The three Chinese New Year menus were created by the hotel's experienced culinary team, led by their new executive chef Idris Benjamin.

With more than 30 years of experience, Idris hones his culinary skills in various international hotels, resorts and offshore catering.

His resume includes notable establishments such as Singapore Hilton, Kuching Hilton and Crown Plaza Hotel, Kuching.

Idris won many medals in regional cooking competitions, including the Silver Medal at the 1988 Malaysia All-Star Teppanyaki Competition.

Bookings for the Chinese New Year menus can be made for lunch or dinner.

Private rooms are available for a minimum booking of three tables.

These menus are available from now until Feb 13 and are ideal for both company dinners as well as family reunions.

To book, call 082-230399 or email sales_kuching@ghihotels.com.my.

Investvine » Religious row fuels <b>Sarawak</b>-Malaysia separation talks

DivorceDiscussion are heating up  on several social media channels set up by residents of Sarawak, as well as Sabah, over separation talks from the rest of Malaysia fueled by growing anger among the Christian majority in Malaysian Borneo over anti-Christian and anti-East Malaysian sentiments on the peninsula.

The Muslim-majority Malaysian government in Kuala Lumpur has upheld a ruling that Christians in the country are banned from using the word "Allah" during their religious ceremonies and from printing it in their bibles. Prime Minister Najib Razak reiterated on January 28 that Malaysian Christians must heed rules forbidding them from using the word.

However, Sarawak officials told Sarawak folks to not follow the mindset of Malaysians in the peninsula when it comes to religion. Christian communities in Sarawak have also said that they won't obey by the rule and rather press for autonomy within the nation or even for separation.

This, in turn, has led Sarawak leaders to caution against demanding separation from Malaysia, saying it can be considered "treason".

"Don't talk about cessation. Any movement at cessation is wrong," Senior Sarawak cabinet minister Tan Sri Dr James Masing said when asked to comment on the calls for separation, as well as the virulent anti-Sabah and Sarawak sentiments from the peninsula.

A similar warning was issued by Deputy Home Minister Datuk Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, who said people should "not cross the line" with their postings in the social media, warning that "the government can tolerate almost anything but don't incite, be seditious or treasonous."

Wan Junaidi said incitement would lead to dissension and friction between races and religions, which he said the government will not tolerate.

"We do not want the multi-racial, multi-cultural and religious society of ours that is very brittle, to be broken."

Masing and Wan Junaidi were referring to, among others, a Facebook page titled "Sarawak Goes For Referendum", which carried a posting in reaction to a photo with the caption "Take back our country".

However, the Muslim side is also stoking up the fire on the web.

On January 30, a police report was lodged in Sabah over a Facebook page set up by "Semenanjung Malaysia Anti Sabah and Sarawak" which mocked Christianity and East Malaysians. Photographs mocking Christianity, including one of a frog nailed to a cross, had angered many Sabahans and Sarawakians.
