LIMBANG: Purnama Hotel here has again taken the lead in organising a safety awareness talk for 42 of its employees and representatives from the various government departments housed at Limbang Plaza.

The talk held on June 25 was followed by the launch of the hotel's three-month long Safety Awareness Campaign.

It was organised by the hotel's Occupational Safety & Health Committee and the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH), Miri Branch.

Lawrence Lim, resident manager of Purnama Hotel and also chairman of the Safety & Health Committee, explained that since end of last year, the hotel management has invited speakers from various government agencies to give talks on safety and organised its own in-house safety training at least once a month for the hotel employees.

"We firmly believe that by providing a safe and healthy working environment, we will contribute to the well-being, morale and productivity of the employees.

"As for our hotel, it will boost the confidence of our clients on the overall safety of our premises and services," he told The Borneo Post yesterday.

He said during the three-month campaign starting this month, there will be an assessment on the various departments within the hotel on work discipline in following safety procedures, the level of safety awareness among the staff and the activities organised within the department to improve safety and health awareness.

Meanwhile, Rahimie Che Yen, with 17 years working experience with DOSH, called on the representatives from Limbang Resident's Office and other government agencies to form a joint safety committee with the Limbang Plaza Management for their own benefit.

Life at Vision: My Journey To Sarawak

Posted: 10 Jul 2014 09:59 PM PDT

Working at Vision College is a wonderful journey as it is both a college as well as a diagnostic centre. This has given me the opportunity to gain valuable knowledge and experiences in the education line.

During my trip to Sarawak with Aqidah, Vision College has given me full support in recruiting students for Vision College. From Miri, we went to Sibu, Bintulu and then to Kuching. For the 2 days at Sibu with Aqidah, we only ate fast food because cannot find other place to eat, we walk for 30 minutes just to find something to eat, and finally, we ended up having pizza. This is because the majority of the population in Sibu are Chinese.

Once we arrived at Kuching, we checked in at Harbour View Hotel, then Aqidah and I went dinner at "Topspot", the famous eatery at Kuching. After dinner, we took a walk at Waterfront and bought some souvenirs for ourselves. In my opinion, tourists in Kuching should definitely visit the Waterfront as the Sarawak River gives it a scenic view. Before returning to Kuala Lumpur, I had the opportunity to stopped by at Pasar Satok to buy some Ikan Masin Terubuk.

Life is beautiful as it is filled with great moments.
